Why Choose the PCAC Workshop?
Why students love this program:

Students need time with professionals and time alone to think about what they want out of college. Sorting out priorities cannot occur in the hectic life of most seniors. Homework, Homecoming, senior activities, senior pictures, community service, church commitments, athletic games, SAT tests, school meetings, application deadlines, college essays, work schedules, and final exams. These are not the surroundings which allow students to make stressful and critical life choices. Time for reflection and serious thought is required to make a decision as important as this. Take one week, during the summer, to make what is the biggest decision any high school student has ever had to make.

Why parents love this program:

Parents need to be involved, but not in control of the college application process. The stress of applying for college often leads to family dysfunction. Parents are no substitute for Professional College Admission Counseling. The students future employment, career, and happiness may hinge on the college application process and parents should not have to bear the burden of this much responsibility. Just because parents attended college does not make them an expert on the college admission process. And, the application processes changes so rapidly that even if the parents already had an older child attend college the world may have changed.

Why high school college counselors love this program:

Today the average high school student may graduate in a class of as many as 600-700 students. Often there is only one full time college counselor. The Professional College Admission Counseling workshop allows 40 hours fully engaged with the student. Most juniors or seniors would be lucky to get to spend forty five minutes with their high school college admission counselor. The information and decision making is far too important to leave in the hands of one high school counselor.

Why colleges love this program:

It is estimated that colleges and universities spend over half of their time processing applications for students who either can not meet the minimum requirements set by that school or who do not belong at that institution. PCAC helps direct students to schools where they will find the greatest happiness and success. Students should not waste hundreds of dollars and weeks of time applying to schools where they will either be rejected or where they will not find the best education for them. College admissions offices immediately take notice of students who have submitted a professionally designed application. A poorly prepared and amateur application can easily get pushed to the bottom of any stack.

Why high school teachers love this program:

High school teachers spend hours each year writing college recommendations for students. Seldom do students put together a usable package of information for their prospective recommendation writers. Often, students bombard the writer with so much information it takes hours of their time to sift through the morass of writing and records. And, some students just assume the teacher knows enough to write a high caliber recommendation so they leave the writer without sufficient or useable information to draft an outstanding recommendation. Professional College Admissions Counseling will send the student home at the end of the week with a useful packet that students can hand their recommendation writers and feel confident the writer is prepared to enhance the student’s chances of being accepted.
